Sepat aka Egay took away my internet connection at home. So last night, i ended up browsing through files in my desktop (bored much?).
And lo and behold! I found this document from the Starbucks days.
I am such a bullshit-er. Essay questions call for bola answers
Excerpt from the Document:
What is your favorite beverage of any sort and why? Where do you usually consume it? With friends? Alone? At home?
This is a very easy question and I don’t even need to think to answer this. Why, it’s white mocha, of course! During my first few visits to Starbucks, I always went for Mocha Frappuccino (yes, just like everybody else) but then when I examined the menu a little bit I noticed White Chocolate Mocha and was intrigued by it. I wondered how it was different from the typical Mocha. So I tried it and fell in love with it on my very first sip. It was a Frappuccino that I ordered and pretty soon I started buying it as a hot drink…and iced on rare occasions. White Mocha became my constant study companion. It was white mocha and nothing else that kept me awake all the nights before my midterms and finals. White mocha lifted a bit of my spirit when I found out that I failed Theology during my junior year in college and white mocha was still there when I saw my report card and realized that I will not be marching with my batch mates because of that damn Theology again. How I am so thankful for all those times I have wept and laughed with my white mocha. Lessons were learned and formulas were memorized with my white mocha. White mocha has seen my blood, sweat and tears.
I love my white mocha when I am in the company of friends or having a study group with my classmates. I savor its flavor inside Starbucks and it enhances the drama of contemplating on life when I am alone. However, there are certain occasions when I had to consume it else where and that would be during those times that Starbucks Katipunan was so full of crammers that I had no choice but to walk all the way back to my condo (white mocha on one hand and Cheetos on the other) and study their instead. Another time would be when I am feeling lethargic to get up for my first subject. I lazily walk to Starbucks and sip my white mocha on my way to class. That would keep me awake at least through the entire morning. You see, white mocha may be my best friend but sleep comes in second.
Describe your earliest memory of coffee in your life. Does it involve a grandparent, a parent or school friends?
I could not exactly remember how old I was but it was probably around the time I stopped drinking milk (not that much of a long story but it involved a childhood trauma), every morning I would drink my Milo while my dad sips his coffee. I was never really interested in it, thinking that it was one of those things that only adults can do. It was not a big “No No” to me until, I think it was my grandfather who told me that kids who drink coffee will stop growing tall. That scared me a lot because as a kid I wanted to be really really tall when I grow up (even though it was already evident that our family line is a short bunch) and I was so shocked when I saw my grandparents’ maid’s kid drink a cup with her bread for her afternoon snack. I told her about what I was told but she just shrugged it off. I don’t knowhow tall she is now because I never really saw her much even when I was a kid but if I had any idea that I was going to be a quarter inch short of 5 feet at 21 years of age, I would have drank coffee with her then…Why I always believed what adults told me, I do not know.
Choose a coffee. If it would be a piece of clothing, what would it be and why?
Gazebo Blend is like my favorite piece of tank top. It is very comfortable to wear especially during a hot summer’s day. For me Gazebo Blend fits in any occasion just like my tank top. I can have it while soaking under the sun at the beach or when I’m hanging out with my friends at the local mall or in a resto-bar. Day or night, iced or hot, they still feel great. And like my tank top, Gazebo Blend never goes out of fashion.
